The art and design department at Missouri State University will display its first student exhibition with a Korean partner institution during the month of October. Located at the Student Exhibition Center, the exhibit, entitled “Exchange,” features curated works by Missouri State students and students from Far East University in South Korea.Student Exhibition Center

The exhibit will run Oct. 1-19. An opening reception will be held this evening from 6-10 p.m. as part of First Friday Art Walk.

“The goal of the show is about not only a cultural exchange between the students in the digital arts from Far East University and Missouri State University but also about the transformation of Graphic Design and Animation due to the rapidly evolving technology landscape,” said Kay Youn, assistant professor of design. “The works included represent two dots upon that landscape and students’ response to these shifts in art making and communicating created by ubiquitous computing.”

All selected student works for the show are from primarily animation, digital arts and graphic design areas. Far East University will debut a similar show, featuring time-based motions, games, digital graphics and animations, in March. This exhibit will coordinate with a Missouri State study away trip to Far East University and will include works by MSU students.
