Don’t miss this month’s Spanish Film Night featuring 7 Virgenes (7 Virgins) on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 5:00 p.m. in Siceluff Hall Room 225. This film is rated R.
While serving a sentence in a juvenile reform center, 17-year-old Tano (Juan Jose Ballesta) is given a two-day leave to attend his brother’s wedding and subsequently attempts to cram a full summer’s worth of fun into 48 hours. Directed and co-written by Alberto Rodriguez, this poignant coming-of-age drama follows Tano as he reunites with his family and friends and learns to appreciate what he took for granted while living on the outside.
The Modern and Classical Languages Department strives to increase student knowledge not only by teaching foreign languages, but also by showing foreign films to illustrate the culture of different countries. The Spanish Film Nights are free and open to the students and the public.
