Dr. Shawn Wahl, dean of the Reynolds College of Arts and Letters, commissioned a promotional video titled “Language is the Bridge” to demonstrate the importance of language skills in a variety of personal and professional environments. The department of modern and classical languages offers a range of majors and minors that help students find connections in a globally-minded marketplace.
The head of the department Dr. Jason Jolley said “We’re really happy with how the video portrays the importance of language as a bridge for connecting with and understanding people from other cultures. It was a challenge to represent all of the 15-plus languages that the department offers, but the combination of casting, visuals, text, and audio does a great job of capturing the diverse nature of what we do. We hope this will encourage more prospective and current students to explore languages at Missouri State.”
