Dr. Shawn Wahl, dean of the College of Arts and Letters, commissioned a video to celebrate the quality, tradition and history of the department of theatre and dance.
“Our theatre and dance programs are nationally recognized, thanks to the talent and commitment of our faculty, students, staff and alumni,” Wahl said.
The words of one such alumnus, John Goodman, provide the inspiration and structural backbone for the video, titled “The Moment Before.” It highlights excerpts from a speech Goodman delivered when he received an honorary doctorate from Missouri State.
“It was an honor to revisit and dramatize the ideas John Goodman shared with us when he accepted his honorary doctorate,” Wahl said. “His words resonate with all those who work in this field and love it.”
