“Two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else…” – IMDB
This high-concept, R-rated comedy is carried by a strong cast led by Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland), but the rest of the cast steals all the scenes. The always great Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation, Human Giant) plays Eisenberg’s partner in forced-crime, and if you don’t already love Aziz check out some of his stand up or work on Parks and Recreation. The cast is rounded out by Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. The film was directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer.
The movie wasn’t much of a critical darling only pulling in a 43% on Rotten Tomatoes with the consensus of:
“It’s sporadically funny and it benefits from a talented cast, but 30 Minutes or Less suffers from a disjointed narrative, and too often mistakes crude gags for true lowbrow humor.” – Rotten Tomatoes
30 Minutes or Less is a fun action comedy that becomes a little convoluted in the story department, but is saved by its extremely talented cast making for an entertaining and funny film. Catch it in the PSU Theater at 9 PM on Wednesday and Sunday. Free for students.
