Softball at Tulsa

The Missouri State softball team (28-22) fell in its final non-conference game by a 9-2 score at Tulsa (31-17) on Wednesday afternoon.

Friday, May 1

Baseball vs. Wichita State
W, 8-3

Missouri State scored seven times over the first five innings, then rode eight strong innings from starting pitcher Jon Harris to claim an 8-3 victory over Wichita State in the opening game of the two clubs’ three-game Missouri Valley Conference series at Hammons Field Friday evening.

W Track at Arkansas TwilightThe Bears will head to the MVC Championships after successfull Arkansas Twilight meet.

Missouri State track & field seem to be hitting their stride at just the right moment. The Bears returned to John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas for the third time this year, in what is the final scheduled meet before competing at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.

 

Saturday, May 2

Softball at Southern Illinois

The Missouri State softball team (28-24, 16-9) saw its title hopes evaporate with a pair of losses at Southern Illinois (21-24-1, 15-10) on Saturday. MSU dropped game one by a 5-4 score and fell in game two, 10-2, in five innings, the ninth-straight defeat to the Salukis in Carbondale.

Baseball vs. Wichita State

Missouri State junior pitcher Matt Hall struck out a career-high 15 batters over a dominant seven-inning performance that propelled the Bears to a 9-1 victory over Wichita State Saturday afternoon at Hammons Field. With the win, MSU secured its seventh-straight series victory, thanks in large part to the work of Hall and an offense paced by the first four-hit performance of freshman Jake Burger’s collegiate career.

 

Sunday, May 3

Softball at Southern Illinois
W, 4-1

Junior Erin Duewel hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning and sophomore Erin Struemph tied a season-high with 10 strikeouts as the Missouri State softball team (29-24, 17-9) locked up the two-seed with a 4-1 win at Southern Illinois (21-25-1, 15-11) on Sunday to close out the regular season. The win gives the Bears a bye into the semifinal round of the MVC Tournament next week in Wichita.

Baseball vs. Wichita State
W, 3-2 (10)

Justin Paulsen’s one-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning handed Missouri State a 3-2 walk-off victory over Wichita State Sunday at Hammons Field, capping a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series sweep for the Bears.
