The film is a gritty, military, romantic drama.
The movie is currently tracking at 63% on Rotten Tomatoes with a consensus of:
“Critics say Ride With the Devil is both well-acted and directed, and also beautifully filmed. It is one of the best of the Civil War movies.”
This event is part of Springfield-Greene County Public Library’s 2011 Big Read Celebration commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. See it Monday at 6:30 PM in the PSU Theater. Admission is free.
If that doesn’t satisfy your need for Civil War drama, be sure to check out the student film South of Black Drink Crier, which premieres at the Electronic Arts Student Showcase on May 9th.
