40th Faculty Showcase on Teaching & Learning
The 40th Faculty Showcase on Teaching & Learning is coming up soon! The event will be held August 13, 2025, but time is running out to sign-up to attend or present. This event provides a place for faculty to present their accomplishments, advancements, and practices in all things teaching and learning, and offers many fulfilling and valuable experiences to those who attend, which means you won’t want to miss it! 2025 Teaching Excellence Award Recipients
The 2025 recipients for the Teaching Excellence Award have been announced! The FCTL would like to recognize and congratulate these faculty members for their outstanding achievements in the realm of teaching and learning:
Winner
- Dr. Sarah Jean Baker, School of Teaching, Learning, and Developmental Science
Finalists
- Dr. Amy Artman, Department of Languages, Cultures, and Religions
- Katy Jessee, Department of Merchandising and Fashion Design
- Dr. Ginney Norton, School of Special Education, Leadership, and Professional Studies
- Dr. Alicia Walker, Department of Sociology and Anthropology
All of the award recipients receive a $250 professional development stipend, and the winner receives an additional $1000 payroll stipend. All recipients will also be recognized at the annual all faculty recognition event. LMS Spotlight
MSU selected D2L’s Brightspace LMS as the university’s official learning management system in the Summer semester of 2024. Since then, faculty and students alike have been adjusting and familiarizing themselves with Brightspace’s many intricacies. Now that the campus community has gotten into the swing of things with the new LMS, though, the question remains—how is Brightspace impacting our faculty and students in their educational pursuits? We spoke with a member of the Brightspace Advisory Committee to get a few answers on how the new LMS is helping our students and educators in their routine tasks.
