Don’t forget, the deadline for proposals for Spring 2026 FLCs is this Friday, October 31st. FLCs are faculty-led learning groups that invite participants to explore and learn more about a topic, further an academic pursuit or interest, or discuss teaching and learning practices. Topics for previous FLCs have included addressing faculty burnout, analyzing student mental health in the classroom, writing groups for faculty development, experiential learning practices, and more! Do you have an academic interest shared by others in our campus community? Would you like to foster a space for faculty members to connect and grow while discussing a common interest? Do you have a passion for teaching and learning and want to help our MSU educators improve their practices?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you should consider creating a Faculty Learning Community (FLC).
FLCs are faculty-led groups that invite MSU faculty members to join together to discuss, grow, and learn in a collaborative group of peers. Each FLC is centered around a specific practice or topic relating to academics, such as writing productivity, artificial intelligence in the classroom, or mental health on campus. Each group is conceptualized and led by MSU faculty members, and grows out of the interests our campus community members have for diverse topics in education.
If you have an idea for a group and are interested in facilitating an FLC, the FCTL is accepting proposals for Spring groups now. To find more information about FLCs in general or some inspiration before you create a proposal, you can visit the FLC page on our website through the link below. If you’re ready to get started creating a community, read through our step-by-step guide.
The deadline for Spring FLC proposals is October 31.
