Spring Scholarship Summit Call for Proposals Open Now

November 18, 2025 by Hailey J. Maples

Presenters and attendees discuss at the 2025 Spring Scholarship Summit

The semester is winding down, but opportunities for the spring semester are already starting to pop up—and the Spring Scholarship Summit is one that you won’t want to miss. The Spring Scholarship Summit is an open house event that allows MSU faculty to showcase their exceptional research, publications, and initiatives in the realm of teaching and learning. This event presents the perfect opportunity to network with colleagues, share scholarly projects, and celebrate the achievements and work that are propelling our university forward.

Poster proposals for the Spring Scholarship Summit are quick, easy, and painless; all the FCTL needs to consider you for a presentation spot is a few sentences explaining who you are and what you would like to share with faculty. Poster proposals for the 2026 Summit are now being accepted, and the deadline for poster proposals is March 1, 2026—making a Summit poster proposal the perfect thing to think about over the semester break. If you have something you’d like to share, or would like to register early to attend the event, follow the link below to sign up to present/attend!

The Spring Scholarship Summit is being held on April 15, 2026, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. This is an open house event, so attendees may come and go freely as is convenient for them.

Spring Scholarship Summit Wrap-Up

April 15, 2025 by Hailey J. Maples

Thank you to all who joined us for the Spring Scholarship Summit last Friday! The Summit kicked off Friday afternoon in Meyer Library 107, and it was a very successful afternoon of tasty treats, academic community, and scholarship. For the hour and a half of the event’s runtime, dozens of faculty from all across campus attended the Summit to snack on delicious hors d’oeuvres, engage with fascinating presentations from this year’s inspiring speakers, and contribute to our campus’s vast and growing expertise on teaching and learning practices!

This year’s summit boasted thirteen presenters from three colleges and eight departments, providing a wide array of essential work across many disciplines and showing just how far our campus community’s passions reach. From library discovery processes and cultural competence research to teaching international children, impactful learning strategies across fields, and more, this event showed that our MSU faculty are making strides in all directions and areas of our academic community. An extra-special thank you to our presenters for sharing their hard work!

The FCTL looks forward to seeing you all next year for Spring Scholarship Summit 2026!
