At the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

Grape canopy management

May 13, 2011 by Marilyn Odneal

To date, last week we have shoot thinned the West Catawba vineyard and removed fruit from low pruning weight or small vines. This week we have shoot and cluster thinned the MVEC Chambourcin rows and have shoot thinned the Seyval blanc. We will wait until fruit set to cluster thin the Seyval. Today, we began to shoot thin the Cayuga White. There is still plenty to do next week!

Breanne is shoot thinning the Seyval Blanc grapes. Scott is in the background since he is not quite as fast at this job.
