Our Concord is in full bloom (50%) and I saw some open flowers on Delaware, Valvin Muscat, Sunbelt and Catawba. So begins grape flowering - we keep our fingers crossed for nice warm and dry weather for good pollination. High tunnel raspberries and veggies

The Crimson Giant raspberries were planted in grow bags today.

Today the Crimson Giant raspberry plugs came in from North American Plants. They were planted in the grow bags and complete the group of cultivars that were selected for the "High Tunnel Production Rotation of Primocane Bearing Raspberries in Grow Bags" project funded by a Specialty Crop Block Grant. Make your own container garden

Susanne Howard explains the process of making a container out of hypertufa.

Susanne Howard directed a workshop on container gardening where the participants actually made their own pots. Hypertufa mixture of sphagnum peat moss, perlite and Portland cement was mixed together with water to the right consistency and was pressed into a mold lined with plastic.
