Tree Fruit Spring Freeze Update

On Wednesday April 21st it reached a low of 24.5° F at 5:10 a.m. which has caused damage on our fruit crops. Assessment of the crops will continue as the crops were at different growth stages, but so far it does not too promising.

Paw Paw
Sour Cherry – Only suffered minor flower burn, but the blooms survived the cold temperatures.
Blueberry
Apple Tree
Live Peach Bud – note the color tissue in the middle
Dead peach bud – note the brown color tissue in the middle
Asian Pear fruit – all 3 were dead as there was no green tissue in the middle
