Sprayer Calibration

March 2, 2022 by Jennifer Morganthaler

It’s almost that time and as the temperatures warm up everything will start growing and need protection, so we took advantage of some of the nicer days in late February to work on sprayer calibration.  Sprayer Calibration is an important step in Orchard and Vineyard Management so you can be more efficient with coverage which can save money on supplies and avoid damage to plants not intended for spray.  We use a SpotOn sprayer calibrator to give us a quick and accurate flow rate of individual nozzles and run multiple trial runs with clean water and then finish the rest of the calculations based upon our equipment and needs.

With all of the sprayers Tom runs the tractor, Randy measures the flow rate and Shelia records and calculates the data.
