Missouri State University encourages employees to take advantage of educational opportunities available through the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS).
MOSERS offers a variety of seminars and webinars designed to support employees at every stage of their career—whether new to state employment, mid-career, or preparing for retirement. These sessions help employees better understand their benefits and make informed decisions as they experience different career and life events.
Newer Employees & MOSERS Webinars
Employees who are newer to state service (with less than five years and not yet vested) can learn about benefits administered through MOSERS, including pension plan features, life insurance, long-term disability, and retirement savings options through MO Deferred Comp. Sessions are approximately two hours and are offered during both daytime and evening hours.
Mid-Career Webinars
Employees with at least five years of service (vested) and several years remaining until retirement eligibility can learn how career and life changes may impact their MOSERS pension benefit.
- Sessions last approximately 2 hours, with daytime and evening sessions available.
- Speakers include MOSERS and MO Deferred Comp.
Ready to Retire Seminars and Webinars
Employees within five years of retirement eligibility can participate in more in-depth sessions covering pension plan details, life insurance and long-term disability benefits (for eligible members), and the retirement process. These sessions include information on all MOSERS plans (MSEP, MSEP 2000, and MSEP 2011) and offered as full-day in-person seminars or webinars, as well as shorter evening webinars.
- Speakers include MOSERS, MO Deferred Comp, the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan (MCHCP), and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
- Ready to Retire sessions include in-person seminars and online webinars (full-day) or evening webinars (3.5 hours).
Missouri State University encourages employees to participate in these sessions this spring. Additional details, including schedules and registration information, can be found on the MOSERS Education page.
