Free Sports Physicals and Community Wellness Events

Families across the region have multiple upcoming opportunities to access free sports physicals along with health, safety, and wellness services designed to support student athletes and community well-being.

These events help students meet athletic participation requirements while also promoting preventive care and family-friendly engagement across multiple communities.

Branson – Ignite the Night with Mercy Community Celebration

Friday, July 3 | 4:00–8:00 p.m.
Location: 448 State Hwy 248

Mercy is hosting a community celebration featuring free sports physicals for kids, along with a wide range of health, safety, and family-focused activities.

Event Highlights

Health, Safety & Wellness
  • Bicycle safety course and free helmets
  • Balance and fall prevention information
  • Kids sports physicals
  • Mercy clinic and specialty information tables
Food and Fun
  • Food trucks available on site
  • Face painting
  • Giveaways and prizes
Entertainment & Evening Activities
  • Live entertainment (4:30–8:30 p.m.)
  • Fireworks begin around 9:00 p.m.

West Plains Area – Free Student Sports Physicals (Ozarks Healthcare)

Ozarks Healthcare has two remaining opportunities for area students to receive free athletic physicals.

The physicals help students meet participation requirements for school activities while ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming academic year.

Remaining Clinic Dates
  • Willow Springs School District – July 7
  • Oregon County Health Department (Alton) – July 31 (for Alton school athletes)

Families should contact their respective school office or nurse for specific details and required forms.

Makeup Appointments – West Plains Zizzer Clinic

Students who are unable to attend their scheduled school physical day may complete a makeup appointment at the Ozarks Healthcare Zizzer Clinic in West Plains.

  • Clinic hours: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
  • Closed daily: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Clinic closure: Closed for the entire month of July
  • Appointment line: 417-505-7123

Springfield – Fall Into Safety Celebration

Location: Mercy Surgery Center Parking Lot
1229 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO 65804

This community safety event offers a variety of prevention and wellness services, including free sports physicals for students.

Event Highlights

  • Free safety materials from injury prevention vendors
  • Free helmets (while supplies last)
  • Free car seat checks
  • Free sports physicals
  • Free food
  • Live demonstrations and safety education
  • Free wheelchair cleanings
  • Family activities and special guests

Springfield – Back to School Bash 

Saturday, July 25 | 9:00–2:00 p.m.
Location:  Springfield Expo Center

Any SPS student can sign up for a free sports physical at the Back to School Bash
