❤️ Are You or a Loved One Facing a Serious Medical Condition?

July 8, 2026 by Deidre Mings

Explore the Samaritan Fund Program for 2027

Samaritan Fund Program

When a serious illness becomes part of everyday life, the last thing you should be worrying about is how to pay the next medical bill.

That’s where the Samaritan Fund Program may be able to help.

Available to Missouri State University employees and covered dependents, this voluntary and confidential program helps individuals facing serious medical conditions with healthcare-related expenses—including medical costs and health insurance premiums.

More than $30 million has been sourced through the program to help individuals and families focus on healing instead of financial stress.

⏰ Now Is the Time to Apply for 2027

If you or a covered dependent are undergoing ongoing treatment for a serious medical condition, now is the time to explore whether you may qualify for assistance in 2027.

Conditions may include:

  • Cancer treatment
  • Organ transplants
  • Chronic illnesses
  • Major surgeries
  • Other serious medical conditions requiring ongoing care

Applying does not obligate you to participate. It simply allows you to learn whether assistance may be available.

🤔 “I Have Great Insurance. Why Would I Apply?”

This is one of the most common questions we hear.

Missouri State offers excellent health insurance, but even great coverage can leave families facing significant expenses:

✔ Deductibles and coinsurance

✔ Prescription drug costs

✔ Travel and lodging for treatment

✔ Specialty care expenses

✔ Health insurance premiums

The Samaritan Fund Program may help reduce those financial burdens so you can focus on your health and your family.

The bottom line?

You don’t have to be struggling with insurance coverage to benefit from the program.

💬 What Participants Are Saying

“Simply put, I just thought it was too good to be true. I’d tell someone now: Believe it! It is too good AND it is true. Don’t be afraid to apply.”

“The Samaritan Fund is absolutely a light of hope when illness has become the center of life. When we couldn’t see any way to pay the medical bills and continue with necessary treatment and surgeries to get life back together, this organization came and said they would help.”

“I would definitely take the time to sign up for this. It’s worth it. Samaritan Fund Program has been so nice. I’d say take the time to see if you qualify. The stress level does not go away but it helps ease the pain. Not physically, but I know some financial burdens can be painful.”

🌟 How It Works

  1. Submit a confidential Medical Insurance Release form.
  2. Speak with a Samaritan Fund Program representative.
  3. Learn whether assistance may be available.
  4. Review your personalized offer if approved.
  5. Decide whether participation is right for you.

There is no obligation to participate.
