Identity protection
Scammers are becoming increasingly convincing, and bank scams can happen to anyone. A recent article from Allstate Identity Protection, Keep Your Finances Safe From Bank Scams, offers simple reminders for protecting your accounts and personal information.
🚨 A Few Ways to Protect Yourself
- Don’t trust caller ID. Scammers can make a call appear to come from your bank.
- Never share a security code, PIN or password with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
- Be cautious of urgent requests. Scammers may pressure you to move money or provide information immediately.
- Verify independently. If you receive a suspicious call, text or email, contact your financial institution using the phone number on your card or statement—not information provided in the message.
When something doesn’t feel right, slow down and verify. A few extra minutes can help prevent financial loss.
🛡️ Protect More Than Your Bank Account
