September 29, 2016 by Elizabeth Armbrecht

enactus logoEnactus is a nonprofit organization looking for interns for its VISTA program. Training will begin late October, and the positions are in grant writing, talent development, and virtual training.

Below are some quick facts about the full time, one-year VISTA internship program:

  • VISTA interns can continue their education and may even work a part-time job while receiving a living expense of $11,848.
  • Student loans are in interest-free forbearance throughout the internship. Upon completion of the 12-month program they earn $5775 toward the principle on their student loan.

(If they do not choose to pay on student loans they can receive $1500 cash.)

  • VISTA Interns receive a health plan through the Corporation for National Service.
  • Interns have the option to enroll for multiple years.
  • Upon completion of a one-year internship, they are eligible for “non-competitive eligibility status” for a federal job for the year following their service.
