Job Description

Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and full-time professionals work together on projects and allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Independent Stave Company. The student will participate and support Independent Stave Company’s goals in one of the several assigned areas such as Transportation, Warehousing, Sales and Operations Planning and Demand Planning.

Typical duties may include but are not limited to

• Conduct research to support Transportation Procurement and Transportation Operations.
  • KPI development and benchmarking.
  • Cost analysis for multi-mode network optimization.
• Conduct research to identify opportunities to improve Finish & non-Finished Goods working capital
  • KPI and reporting improvements
  • Analysis of safety stock levels and buying practices/MRP system settings
• Review of distressed inventory management process

Position Qualifications: Education and Experience

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program related to Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Minimum GPA 3.00
• Strong results orientation.
• Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, problem-solving and conflict management.
• Ability to problem solve with limited guidance
• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer competency. Experience with MS suite of products desirable

Compensation

• Paid internship program (This position is an hourly position)
• 40 Hours, Monday-Friday
• May require some day or overnight travel
