Student Scholarship Program

$750 Cash Scholarship Award

ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student and have completed 60 credit hours at a four-year institution or 30 hours at a two-year institution by December 2018.
2. Institution of applicant must be a current member of the Gateway Career Services Association (GCSA).
3. Applicants must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
4. Applicants meeting the above eligibility requirements must submit all requested materials by Friday, March 22, 2019.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

NOTE: **NO REFERENCE SHOULD BE MADE TO THE APPLICANT’S NAME OR INSTITUTION IN THE ESSAY.**

The following materials must be submitted by Friday, March 22, 2019.

1. Résumé
2. Unofficial transcript (an official transcript will be requested from candidates selected as finalists)
3. A 500-word essay, typewritten and double-spaced (about two pages), addressing the following topics:

• The role academics played in career preparation: knowledge, skills and competencies gained from major areas of studies and general education requirements.
• Observations, insights, knowledge, and/or skills gained from out of the classroom experiences as they relate to future career goals, including but not limited to co-ops/internships, part/full time work, clubs/organizations, military participation, and/or athletics.
• The nature of assistance the scholarship will provide.

SELECTION PROCESS

Application materials will be reviewed by a panel of GSCA members. Essays will be evaluated on conformity to bulleted topics, clarity of thought, and correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Award winner will be notified in mid-April 2019. All applicants will be notified of application status.

Completed application materials should be received by Friday, March 22, 2019.
