Job Title and Description/Primary Responsibilities: Sustainability Internship – Bluefields Bay
The students will work as a team to develop website content for a Sustainable Tourism website for Bluefields Bay, Jamaica. The students will work with the MSU Sustainability Coordinator, MSU Faculty and representatives from Bluefields Bay to collect information and develop the website content. They will then work with a contracted web designer to oversee the creation of the website, and work with Bluefields Bay representatives to make final edits. The interns will also work with the web designer to help train Bluefields Bay personnel to maintain the website.
Students will be expected to travel to Bluefields Bay, Jamaica with the team to meet with Bluefields Bay community representatives and business leaders to discuss the website and make any adjustments. The trip to Jamaica will be scheduled once COVID travel restrictions are lifted. We do not expect to travel until at least summer or fall of 2021.
Qualifications:
- Student with a background in business/marketing.
- Student with a background in tourism planning/hospitality.
Hours: 8 hours/week
Pay: Students selected for this internship will receive up to $1,000 each towards their travel costs for the trip to Jamaica.
