Marketing Department’s administrative assistant Peggy Kahre has recently been awarded with the CAP Certification. The CAP Certification, which stands for Certified Administrative Professional, is a highly regarded credential in the field of office professionals. The CAP exam is designed from a “blueprint” called the Body of Knowledge. The test covers six key domains. Each domain represents a specific percentage of the exam and is based on a Job Task Analysis. The CAP “Certification is a fantastic way to show the world you are serious about your career; that you have a current knowledge of the areas necessary to be a rockstar in your role; that you are committed to learning long after the classwork is done; and it’s an amazing way to prove to yourself you really CAN accomplish anything you set your mind to.”
The CAP is a National Commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited credential designed specifically for administrative professionals. NCCA is part of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) and verifies that the CAP meets national and international credentialing industry standards for certification.
To receive this certification Peggy Kahre was required to attend a seven-week training program three hours a week. During her time training, Peggy focused on the six domains each having numerous outcomes. Those domains are: Organizational Culture and Leadership, Business Communication and Deliverables, Software, Data, and the Internet, Office and Records Management, Meeting, Event, and Project Management Operational Functions. Upon completion of the course, Peggy was required to take a 200-225 multiple choice exam which was proctored in a testing center.
When asking Peggy Kahre about her experience with the CAP Certification she shared, “I will tell you I am very pleased that I passed the exam in one attempt. I have wanted to attend this training and get the certification since I learned the certification was available. The exam was lengthy and not easy.”
Dr. Ismet Anitsal, Department Head of Marketing Department, adds “I wholeheartedly congratulate Peggy Kahre on her remarkable achievement. She consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her professional growth and development. Obtaining the CAP certification is a true testament to her hard work and dedication.”
On behalf of the Marketing Department, we want to congratulate Peggy Kahre once again for this amazing achievement! Your perseverance is remarkable, and we are excited to see what you do next!
