1. Understanding Military Pilots’ Fuel-Saving Intentions for Supporting Logistics Missions
Gaitan, I., Yun, G., Joo, H., & Hwang, S. (2024). Understanding military pilots’ fuel-saving intentions for supporting logistics missions. Journal of Air Transport Management, 121, 102689.
Published in the Journal of Air Transport Management, this study applies the Theory of Planned Behaviors (TPB) to explore the factors influencing military pilots’ intentions to save fuel during logistics missions. Dr. Yun and her co-authors discovered that subjective norms and perceived behavioral control positively correlate with pilots’ fuel-saving intentions. Furthermore, pilots’ pride in performance enhances their attitudes toward fuel-saving. Interestingly, the study found no significant difference between the fuel-saving intentions of pilots from the United States Air Force (USAF) and the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF), revealing the universal applicability of these motivational drivers.

2. Empowering Student Learning through Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric Analysis
Yun, G., Lee, K.M., & Choi, H.H. (2024). Empowering Student Learning through Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric Analysis. Journal of Educational Computing Research, 0(0), 1-34.
Published in the Journal of Educational Computing Research, this study delves into the rapidly growing intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and student learning. Using a bibliometric approach, Dr. Yun and her colleagues analyzed 663 scholarly articles spanning from 1961 to 2024. They identified four thematic areas within AI and education: AI-driven learning environments, essential AI enablers, human learning, and educational technology. The study highlights both the promise and challenges AI presents in education, emphasizing the critical need for deeper research into AI’s transformative impact on student learning processes.

3. Delivery Riders’ Safety and Delivery Efficiency in the On-Demand Food Delivery Industry
Yu, D., Zhang, J., & Yun, G. (2024). Delivery riders’ safety and delivery efficiency in on-demand food delivery industry: The moderating role of monitoring algorithms. Research in Transportation Business & Management, 55, 101143.
In this paper, featured in Research in Transportation Business & Management, Dr. Yun collaborated with colleagues to explore the safety and efficiency of on-demand food delivery (ODFD) riders. Using conservation of resources (COR) theory and structural equation modeling, the study examined how riders’ well-being affects risky driving behaviors and delivery efficiency. The findings reveal that stress plays a mediating role, while different types of monitoring—interactional and observational—impact the relationship between stress, risky driving, and efficiency. The research offers valuable insights for ODFD companies to enhance rider safety and efficiency through targeted monitoring strategies.

4. Digital Twinning for Resilient Global Supply Chains: Three Case Studies
Yun, G., Hales, D.N., & Hong, L. (2024). Digital Twinning for Resilient Global Supply Chains: Three Case Studies. Markets, Globalization & Development Review, 9(1), 4.
Published in Markets, Globalization & Development Review, this study investigates the role of Digital Twin (DT) technology in enhancing global supply chain resilience during crises such as pandemics or conflicts. By analyzing three companies across different industries, Dr. Yun and her co-authors demonstrated how DT can offer early alerts and timely interventions to bolster supply chain performance. Despite the success in improving key performance indicators, the study highlights the considerable costs and time investments required, posing challenges to wider DT adoption. The findings provide a balanced view of the benefits and limitations of implementing Digital Twins in supply chains.
