Missouri State AMA Earns Top 25 Recognition at International Conference

April 2, 2026 by Avas Basnet

The Missouri State University American Marketing Association (MSU AMA) chapter recently attended the AMA International Collegiate Conference in Chicago, and this year marked a historic milestone.

For the first time ever, MSU AMA was named a Top 25 chapter out of 344 chapters worldwide. This achievement is a huge honor and reflects the hard work, consistency, and passion of everyone involved in the organization.

Strong Performance Across Competitions

In addition to the Top 25 recognition, MSU AMA students performed exceptionally well in multiple competitions. The team earned 3rd place in the Marketplace Simulation, and an Honorable Mention in the website competition. One standout moment came from student Lila Dothage, who made it to the finals of the Perfect Pitch competition.

The chapter also continued its leadership and networking efforts. MSU AMA hosted the Student Networking Agency Blitz, attracting over 85 students, making it their highest attendance yet. Additionally, the chapter presented for the second time at a Chapter Leadership session, where they shared their strategies on growing and engaging membership.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

According to Dr. Jenifer Skiba, this achievement has been years in the making.

“To be able to compete against teams that are 2-5 times larger than us is a very significant achievement.” she adds.

“Top 25 is an amazing accomplishment for the MSU AMA, it is something that we have been working towards since I became the faculty advisor in 2019. I am so very proud of this Chapter.”

The achievement reflects the dedication of all the students involved in AMA, both past and present.

Looking Ahead

Rather than focusing only on rankings, the chapter’s goal is to continue growing and improving each year.

“While moving higher than Top 25 will become more competitive, MSU AMA is committed to improving in different areas and competitions.” Dr. Skiba adds.

The chapter also hopes to continue hosting sessions at future conferences, building on the momentum from the past few years.

This year’s success is not just about rankings but about progress, teamwork, and representing Missouri State on a national stage. Watching MSU AMA gain this level of recognition has been exciting, and the future looks even brighter.
