What does it take to turn a business idea into something real? Missouri State students can explore that question at the third annual SGF Business Lab: The Art of Business on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Hosted at efactory in downtown Springfield, this free event brings together entrepreneurs, small business owners, city leaders and local business experts. Students are welcome to attend, whether they are developing an idea of their own or want to learn how businesses grow and connect with customers.
Choose a track that fits your interests
The Business Lab offers information sessions across three tracks:
- Getting started: For people exploring a new business idea or taking their first steps as an entrepreneur.
- Growing a business: For small business owners looking for ways to move forward.
- Branding, creativity and customer experience: For anyone interested in how a business presents itself and builds relationships with customers.
The third track may be especially useful for marketing students. It connects classroom topics such as branding and customer experience with the decisions local businesses make every day. Students can also hear from people working in Springfield’s business community and make connections beyond campus.
