The Missouri State University Marketing Department congratulates former graduate assistant Mukesh Khati on earning his Master of Public Health in July 2026, along with graduate certificates in Public Health Administration and Health Programming. His time at Missouri State included academic achievement, contributions to the department, and leadership in the campus community.
Originally from Nepal, Mukesh arrived at Missouri State in Fall 2024 to expand his public health knowledge and prepare for future leadership opportunities. Along the way, he gained experiences that strengthened his skills in communication, teamwork, and community engagement.
Contributing to the Marketing Department
From January through July 2026, Mukesh served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the College of Business Marketing Department. He helped create promotional materials, social media content, and blog posts while supporting website content management, search engine optimization, and Power BI reporting.
His responsibilities also included assisting with student recruitment, Open House events, and campus tours. Working with faculty on scheduling, event coordination, and planning gave him opportunities to learn how a department connects with students and supports its activities. He also served as a judge at the FBLA State Leadership Conference and the Pi Kappa Delta 2026 Biennial Nationals.
Reflecting on his experience, Mukesh expressed particular appreciation for Dr. Anitsal, Peggy, and the Marketing Department team.
“Their support and mentorship helped me strengthen my professional skills, build confidence, and understand how communication, teamwork, and strategic planning contribute to an organization’s success.”
Building Community at Missouri State
Beyond his academic and departmental responsibilities, Mukesh participated in student organizations and campus activities, including Student Government Association and Traditions Council initiatives.
As the founding president of the Nepalese Student Association, he helped build a welcoming community and promote cultural exchange. His leadership included organizing meet-and-greet events, farewell gatherings for graduating students, and a Nepali New Year celebration attended by more than 100 people. These experiences were among the most meaningful parts of his Missouri State journey.
Coming from a health care background, Mukesh found that working across disciplines helped him develop skills beyond his academic training. Digital content creation, event planning, leadership, and collaboration offered new ways to connect with people and support a community.
Looking Ahead
As Mukesh moves forward in his public health career, he carries the lessons and relationships he developed at Missouri State. He credits faculty, staff, colleagues, friends, and family for their support throughout his journey.
“I leave Missouri State better prepared to embrace new challenges, continue learning, and contribute meaningfully to the communities I serve.”
The Marketing Department thanks Mukesh for his contributions and congratulates him on this milestone. We wish him continued success as he begins the next chapter of his public health career.
