Sarah Waterman
Graduate Student, Nutrition and Dietetics
“I firmly believe that everyone deserves access to safe and nutritious food” says Sarah. Taking time between her undergraduate and graduate degree to gain helpful career experience, Sarah served as a dietitian at Mercy Hospital and Prime, Inc, where she educated employees and community members on how to improve dietary habits and live healthier lives.
On campus, you will find Sarah using her graduate assistantship to co-manage the Bear Pantry with Alex Johnson, fellow GA Kylie Mignone, and Kayla Kaminski. Recognizing that students can’t operate at full capacity while being hungry, she strives to connect students in need with food options and nutrition education. Sarah mentions that eliminating food insecurity helps students study better, learn better, and live better. As such, she enjoys being able to distribute food through the pantry, and provides supplemental education on nutrition to all who are willing to listen. Through her Bear Pantry experience, Sarah’s passion has extended to community outreach and educational resources as well.
Congratulations to Sarah for her dedication and community engagement!
