Nominations being accepted for Board of Governors’ Excellence in Public Affairs Award

Both faculty and staff are awarded for integrating public affairs into their university work.

NOMINATION DEADLINE – MARCH 6, 2026

The 2026-2027 award is in recognition of a recipient’s distinctive on-campus related work and accomplishments in support of the University’s public affairs mission. Up to three faculty and three staff are selected annually. Each recipient receives a plaque and internal funds of $1,500 to support their university public affairs work. Nominees must be full-time Missouri State employees with a minimum of 3 years full-time employment at the time of nomination.

FACULTY NOMINEE PROCESS

Each academic college, including Library Services and the West Plains campus, may submit one faculty each to represent their area for award consideration. A name may be submitted for consideration with or without a formal nomination letter by March 6, 2026. Faculty nominees will be contacted by Office of Public Affairs Support to begin assembling their formal application packet which will be due by April 3, 2026. Applications include a letter by the nominee plus 3 supports letters.

STAFF NOMINEE PROCESS

There is no limit to the number of staff that may be nominated. Nominations may be submitted by any campus employee or member of the public. A name may be submitted for consideration with or without a formal nomination letter by March 6, 2026. Staff nominees will be contacted by Office of Public Affairs Support to begin assembling their formal application packet which will be due by April 3, 2026. Applications include a letter by the nominee plus 3 supports letters.
