Public Affairs Conference 2020 The Power of VOICE

No registration is required.  This year’s theme is The Power of VOICE. Join us as we explore the many aspects of The Power of Voice, the 2020-2021 Public Affairs theme.  There will be one In-Person opening panel session on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the PSU Theatre. The title of the event is Have a Strong Voice! And I will use it to…?  There will be local and national speakers, 20-panel sessions, and new this year will be fifty-minute panel sessions with start times mirroring class times.  Some of the Plenary Speakers include Marcus Engel, who is the Co-founder of I’m Here Movement. He will present The Other End of the Stethoscope on Wednesday, September 30, from 12:20 PM to 1:20 PM. Ebony Stewart, a Spoken Word Artist, Poet, Advocate, will present The Power of Voice Expressed by Ebony on Wednesday, September 30, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Lyrissa Lidsky, who is the Dean and Professor of MU School of Law. She will present Social Media Self-Sabotage on Thursday, October 1, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Sue Klebold is an author and advocate for Mental Health. She will present Reaching for Hope on Thursday, October 1, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  The conference schedule, session descriptions, speaker bios, and ZOOM Webinar links can be viewed at www.publicaffairs.missouristate.edu/schedule. For information, contact the Office of Public Affairs Support, 417-836-8832.  Plenary speaker sessions will be recorded and available for viewing for a limited time. Panel sessions will not be recorded.
