United Way of the Ozarks: June 23 Day of Caring

“The Code: The Power of ‘I Will’” Book Discussion

Dace is Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She is also an associate professor in Communication Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and has taught courses in and written about intercultural communication, race relations, the construction of gender, and the empowerment of women of Color. Dance holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Liberal Arts and Mass Communication, respectively, from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of Iowa. In 2012, she published an edited book, Women of Color and White Women in Conversation (Routledge), which brought together ten women of Color and ten white women to discuss the challenges of working across race in university settings
