Leaders in Community Service, also known as the LCS program is a registered student organization dedicated to serving the Springfield community and is operated through the Student Employment Office.
The LCS program allows students to work 10-12 hours per week earning $12.80 per hour at a non-profit organization located in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to serving a non-profit agency, LCS members also participate in at least one service project, training sessions, scheduled meetings, and other planned events each semester.
Through participating in the program, LCS members broaden their educational experience and awareness of community needs along with providing valuable services, insights, and energy to the Springfield community.
LCS members are paid by Missouri State through the Federal Work-Study program. To be eligible to join the LCS program students must:
- Be Pell-Grant Eligible
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA
- Be enrolled in 12 credit hours
- Participate in a comprehensive application and interview process
The application deadline for the 2022-2023 LCS Program is March 11th, 2022.
