This week I received my packet for the trip and had my first official meeting. It is kind of scary but thrilling all at the same time. I have gone out of the country a few times, but never without family; I also have never been to any asian countries. I know that I will be learning so much and it will be an exciting adventure that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It will be difficult for me somewhat to be on this trip because I am far from a business/marketing major; I am going on the trip as an Honors student. I will have different views on what we see and I will be learning a lot. Not only will I be learning about the new cultures but also some things from the business department. I think that is what I am most nervous about–not having the same education background as the rest of the students. Although I am nervous, I cannot wait for the stories and experiences that I will have and be able to bring back to the United States with me.
At this point, I am still trying to learn basic things about the countries and learn as much as I can. This week was a very busy week since it was the first week back after Spring Break so hopefully in the coming weeks I will have more time on my hands to do some research. I cannot wait to learn more about the places I will be traveling and about the people I will be meeting. I love learning about other cultures and seeing experiences from other points of view, so this should be a fun adventure.

I think it is great you’re not a business major. You’ll have an unique perspective about the trip and can contribute something new to the group. Looking forward to a great experience with you in Vietnam!
