Myanmar Accessible Data and Fast Food
This week has been a bit frustrating attempting to find consumer data for our Cultural Snap shot presentation. It occurs to me the challenges and risk businesses take when investing in nations with limited transparency and political uncertainty. Considering how might the cautious investor proceed in this landscape? Small steps I imagine.
Read an article this week about KFC and Pizza Hut attempting to enter the somewhat new fast food market in Myanmar. Is it terrible that I find it depressing that the first offerings of America food culture is always Coca Cola and some hideous unhealthy drive through fare that only slightly resembles food? It is understandable that these companies have low start up cost and therefore less risk. Just wish we could find better ambassadors of our food culture
