I cannot believe it is here, this is the week. I keep going through everything and making sure that I do not forget to bring something. It still feels surreal that this is really happening.
I did a little research so that I knew what to expect once we left the United States. For one, it is going to be around a 14 hour flight…not really sure what I am going to do with myself for that long on a plane. I have packed a few books and magazines but those will only hold my attention for so long. I plan on sleeping some and just enjoying the ride as much as I can and use the down time to rest before the next crazy three weeks ensue. I am also hoping to use this time to get to know the rest of the group that I am traveling with.
Secondly, once there I am going to be 12 hours ahead of the time that we left; that is going to take awhile to get used to. I am not sure how going through customs will be but I am glad I have a group to go through with that will probably be as confused as me. We have been warned that when we get to Vietnam it is going to be very hot and humid but I have a feeling I won’t notice because I will be so focused on all the excitement and hustle and bustle around me.
The more that I research, however, the more I realize that I am going to have to play it by ear and go with whatever happens. I know that Ms. Pham and everyone I am traveling with will be great help and it should be a great time overall.
I cannot wait for the hot stone massage after the long flight–it is going to feel amazing.

There’s not much to do on a 14 hour long flight but I recommend you sleeping for most of it in order to help you adjust to the jet lag quicker. I’d also recommend you getting up and walking around once in a while you don’t get tired of sitting for the whole flight. And when in doubt, there’s always movies for you to binge watch 🙂
