Before traveling to Vietnam, I had a friend that told me their favorite food is rambutan. So, today, when we went to the buffet for lunch, after visiting STU, I tried some for the first time. and, I have to say, it was absolutely delicious. Alex was saying that in the US, he bought one for $2.00 a piece. Here, at market, you can get 1k for less than two dollars. It is crazy to think how inexpensive everything is here.
We, as a class, visited STU today. STU stands for Saigon tech university. After meeting the students and presenting a PowerPoint regarding MSU and the state of Missouri, we played games and toured campus. One girl informed me that the school only has 300 students. Compared to msu, it seems so small. Some of the textbooks were quite comparable though. I felt like I bonded with some students. We went to market later in the day and then played soccer with them before the rain cam in. I really enjoyed market with them because they are better at bartering than me and can speak the language of the merchants.
