5/25 WE SAW THE BEACH
today we started the day a little later than before at 9 AM. We traveled to the temple Uluwatu, known for its ravenous monkeys who take hats and glasses and any objects not fully attached to your body. This temple was located on a cliff and provided many sights and feels as we overlooked the raging waves crashing into rocky surface below. Then, we ended up at the GWK cultural center for lunch. I got this newfound rolled ice cream. It was quite refreshing on such a hot day. We got to see the Padang Padang beach. It is known for being the main beach in eat pray love and is a very secluded spot for surfers to come and catch a wave. Finally, we made it to our beach: Dreamland Beach. Beautiful waves crashed into the sand as an undertow carried you out to sea. Although it was quite a strong current, it was a delight to spend the afternoon soaking up rays and a little salt water in my nose. At 5, we left the beach in order to make the sunset at the seafood restaurant. So far, the clouds have blocked the official sunset over the water. Therefore, I have not gotten super great photographs yet of the sun setting. But, I have seen some pretty beautiful sights. We found a Mexican restaurant a couple nights ago and returned for some Churros in chocolate sauce. Let me tell you, it hit the spot. One more full day in paradise. Can’t wait to see what it brings.
