We began today by going to a massage parlor. Maggie and I did not get the massage so we walked around instead. I had a massage a few days ago that I’m still a little sore from so I thought I’d pass on this one. While we were walking around, we were approached by hoards of people; first children then adults. Once we bought something, they all flocked to us. One everyone was done with their massages, we took a tour of Ta Phin village. As we pulled in, people were running after the van to sell us souvenirs and they followed us the whole way through. You could tell the village had changed a lot recently, as a lot of construction was underway. It was clear this was not of the villagers doing, so it’s a little sad to see that they’re losing their culture. We then took the bus to the Vietnam-China border. This was really cool, as just across the river you could see a totally different culture. Once done there, we came to eat at the same restaurant we did a couple days ago. I really liked most of the food, and we got to try some wine. The wine I tried had a dead cobra in it, but it was actually really nice and smokey. We are about to take the overnight train, and we got an upgrade for this one. I’m looking forward to Hanoi tomorrow.
