Building Sustainable Habits

April 11, 2024 by Tracey J. Coronado

Spring has arrived! As the hours of sunlight grow longer and the weather gets warmer, the leaves on the trees and the blossoming flowers are not the only things that are undergoing change. There is a reason we have terms like “spring fever” and “spring cleaning”. The change into spring can feel like emergence from a months-long hibernation of sorts, where shorter days and colder weather kept many of us indoors and, therefore, less active. If you are feeling that pull to metamorphose with the world around you, one way to make change is to build habits to achieve a more sustainable lifestyle. Not only does living more sustainably help conserve our natural resources, it can also help you save money and be healthier! The following infographic shows just a few ways you can start (or continue) your journey to a more sustainable lifestyle.

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability means meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
There are three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic.
