On Monday, Administrative Council approved changes to two Web-related policies.
Web policy changes
Three major changes were made to the Web policy:
Policy extended to cover all University Web content, including official University presences on external resources.
The policy now applies to any website that is hosted through University resources or that represents the University or the professional persona of its employees.
A website is any collection of content offered through the Web, including traditional sites, blogs and social networking sites.
Credit card processing must use approved methods.
University websites must use an approved method for collecting online payments:
- Direct link to a storefront
- Approved vendor-supplied integration
- Web Press credit card collection form
- Custom application developed and maintained by computer services or Web and new media
All official websites must use the standard header and footer.
Central, university unit, course and sponsored organization websites must include the standard University masthead and footer on all pages, unless an exemption is approved by the director of Web and new media.
Media policy changes
The Media Policy was removed from the Policy Library because the University no longer offers on-campus streaming media services. The Web Policy addresses media included within websites, including live streaming services.
