“Crimes of the Heart”
Old resentments simmer and passions bubble up in the Magrath family kitchen in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, where three sisters have reunited for the first time in five years to care for their ailing grandfather. Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for drama, this southern gothic comedy makes the women’s journeys of self-discovery both touching and hilarious.
Showing at Craig Hall Balcony Theatre from Sept. 19-Oct. 1. By Beth Henley. Directed by Dr. Carol Maples, MSU theatre and dance professor.
“Cats”
A clan of cats, each with a distinct personality, gather to decide who will ascend to a new life. Based on T.S. Elliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” this Tony Award-winning show combines music, dance, acrobatics and costumes to tell a story of humor and compassion.
Showing at Craig Hall Coger Theatre from Oct. 25-28. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Directed and choreographed by Sarah Wilcoxon, MSU theatre and dance assistant professor.
“The Comedy of Errors”
Two sets of twins, accidentally separated at birth, find themselves in the same town. Confusion and chaos quickly ensue. First produced in 1594, “The Comedy of Errors” continues to entertain with slapstick humor and witty wordplay.
Showing at Craig Hall Coger Theatre from Nov. 21-24. By William Shakespeare. Directed by Dr. Kyle Thomas, MSU theatre and dance assistant professor.
