Information Services has been working to increase the security of the BearPass account recovery process for our faculty and staff. As part of this process, there are some steps you’ll need to take in order to make it easier for you to recover your account should you forget your password in the future.

Why is this being done? To maintain the ease of changing your password without assistance from the Help Desk, while also increasing the level of security.

When will this take place?

Faculty and Staff: You can begin updating your information immediately!
Students: March 21, 2016

What immediate action is needed? All faculty, staff, and students should take the following steps as soon as possible. Otherwise, if you forget your password in the future, you must contact the Computer Services Help Desk to get assistance.

To set your new account recovery and security options, go to https://cams.missouristate.edu/recoveryoptions and follow these steps:

1. Set or update your Recovery Email Address. (Your Recovery Email Address will be used to verify your identity in the event you lose access to your BearPass account. It should be an email address that only you have access to, and it should not be a Missouri State email address.)

2. Create answers to at least four Security Questions. (For security purposes, old answers were removed and more secure questions were put in place.)

3. Save your Account Recovery and Security Options.
