GGP students present at conference

Every MSU representative who went also presented research.

The Geological Society of America held their annual meeting March 25-27 in Manhattan, Kansas.

More than a dozen Missouri State Bears presented at the conference.

  • Charlie Hoffman, graduate
  • Mary Humphries, undergraduate
  • Nic Jordan, graduate
  • Dr. Gary Michelfelder
  • Dr. Kevin Mickus
  • Sage Muttel, graduate
  • Conner O’Dowd, graduate
  • Dr. Charles Rovey II
  • Maddie Stearn, graduate
  • Jordan Vega, graduate

Michelfelder, Mickus and O’Dowd also chaired oral sessions.

Rovey says this conference is important for a variety of reasons, from the exciting topography of Kansas to finding collaborators, mentors and teachers.

“Trips are a great way for students to see how classroom learning is integrated and applied to real projects and issues,” Rovey said.
