Hope everyone had a restful spring break. We’ve got 7 weeks left before finals. For those of you graduating (like me) that’s only 7 weeks of classes left in your college career. The PSU is here to help you make the best of the next 7 weeks. Here’s what’s going on around campus.
You’ve waited long enough, don’t wait in line! Every student is required to agree to a waiver of liability before using the new Foster Recreation Center. Skip the long lines by doing this now! Here’s how: log in to My Missouri State, access the Profile tab, under Wellness select “Recreation Center Waiver of Liability” and agree!
The First-Year Programs office is currently accepting recommendations of books suitable to use as a common reader in GEP101, First-Year Foundations. All sections of GEP101 and some sections of UHC 110 will use the book. We need your help in identifying books that relate to the 2013-2014 Public Affairs theme, Global Perspective: Why it Matters. Please send nominations to FirstYearPrograms@missouristate.edu. Recommendation must be received by April 6th.
Wednesday
Remembrance Vigil for Trayvon Martin. We will be remembering Trayvon Martin for the young man he was. We will speak out about the issue at hand and express our perspective as part of multiple communities, but more importantly as active young adults. The event goes from 6 – 8 PM at the Bear Paw.
SAC Presents: Sex + Money at 7 PM in the PSU Theater. Sex+Money: A National Search for Human Worth is a documentary about domestic sex trafficking and the modern-day abolitionist movement fighting to stop it. After each showing we will have a panel of experts to discuss what is being done in Springfield to combat this issue.
Thursday
Mock Interview Day will be from 9 AM – 4:15 PM in the PSU Ballroom West. You must sign up online for a time slot to interview with an employer for mock interview day.
SAC and RHA Present: Texas Hold ‘Em from 9 PM – 12 AM. Upon arrival, players will choose a table and begin their games. As people go out the tables will combine until there is one table left. There will be free pizza and sodas at this event. First prize will be an iPad 2, while second and third prize will receive gift cards.
Friday
Fried: Why We Burn Out and How to Revive will be from 7 – 9:30 PM in the PSU Theater. This program covers the 12 stages of burnout that is caused by overwork. The program will help you identify where you are and how to get back to an effective life.
SAC Presents: Rock ‘N Bowl from 7:30 – 10:30 PM. That means free bowling, pool, ping pong and Wii. Come check out the new renovations to Level 1 including a chalking wall in the back where you can make your mark on Level 1!

Habitat for Humanity: 3 Homes in 3 Days is looking for volunteers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday lasts from 12:30 – 7 PM. More details.

SAC Presents: Robert Hastings at 7 PM in the Carrington Theater. After the Freedom of Information Act passed in September 2012, Robert Hastings immediately began compiling information on UFO sightings, and he believes that this information leads to proof that UFOs exist, and that alien lifeforms from other planets have expressed an interest in our planet.

SGA Election Debate in the PSU Theater from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. This event will serve as an opportunity for the MSU community to hear from candidates running for Student Body President and Vice President as well as Senior Class President.
