That very day, he falls head-over-boots in love with Mabel, daughter of a major-general. But before the happy couple can make plans for their future, a technical glitch comes to light: As Frederic was born on February 29, his true birthday occurs just once every four years; therefore, he must stay with the pirates until he’s 84! Mabel vows to wait faithfully, but with the police in pursuit of the pirates, time is running out! As frothy as the seafoam on the Cornwall coast, The Pirates of Penzance is a rollicking, swashbuckling, jolly good musical!
