Synopsis:
“This year, over 13 million American kids will be bullied at school, online, on the bus, at home, through their cell phones and on the streets of their towns, making it the most common form of violence young people in this country experience. BULLY is the first feature documentary film to show how we’ve all been affected by bullying, whether we’ve been victims, perpetrators or stood silent witness. The world we inhabit as adults begins on the playground. BULLY opens on the first day of school. For the more than 13 million kids who’ll be bullied this year in the United States, it’s a day filled with more anxiety and foreboding than excitement. As the sun rises and school busses across the country overflow with backpacks, brass instruments and the rambunctious sounds of raging hormones, this is a ride into the unknown. For a lot of kids, the only thing that’s certain is that this year, like every other, bullying will be a big part of whatever meets them at their school’s front doors. …”

SAC Weekly Film: Summer Wars

Join us on Wednesday April 10 and Sunday April 14 at 9pm in the PSU Theater for this award winning animated film.

When high school student and math genius Kenji Koiso is convinced by his secret crush, Natsuki Shinohara, to come with her to her family’s home for a summer job, he immediately agrees. However, he soon realizes a celebration is underway for the 90th birthday of Natsuki’s grandmother, the family matriarch. Kenji discovers his “summer job” is to pretend to be Natsuki’s fiancé. As Kenji attempts to keep up with Natsuki’s act, he receives a mysterious math problem on his cell phone that he can’t resist solving. Unknown to him, the solution to the mysterious equation causes a hijacking of the virtual world, Oz, by a virus called Love Machine, which threatens to destroy not only the online realm, but the real world, as well. Kenji is caught between fighting his own life battles and saving Oz from the clutches of Love Machine.

The Roast of: Batman and Robin

Join SAC and local comedians as we watch and laugh our way through the 1997 classic Batman and Robin starring George Clooney and Chris O’Donnell. This movie roast experience is one of a kind in Springfield and an event you don’t want to miss.

Batman & Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City. Here is a movie preview!
