Next up in the Showcase Spotlight Series is a group of faculty members from the School of Special Education, Leadership, and Professional Studies: Annice McLean, Dr. Ching-Wen Chang, and Dr. Krista Tate!

Annice McLean, Senior Instructor in the School of Special Education, Leadership, and Professional Studies, Dr. Ching-Wen Chang, Professor in the School of Special Education, Leadership, and Professional Studies, and Dr. Krista Tate, Instructor in the School of Special Education, Leadership, and Professional Studies will be presenting at the Showcase this fall during the first session of simultaneous faculty presentations. In this presentation, the group will provide an innovative solution to one of the most common difficulties for educators: constantly overflowing inboxes. The session will present course chatbots as a solution for this issue, advising attendees on the creation and usage of these tools to answer common student questions, guide students through syllabus information, and connect students to course materials. Faculty of all levels of technological skill can attend this presentation to learn how to integrate a chatbot into their courses to assist with communication, freeing up time and energy for educators while continuing to enhance student support and engagement. Attend the Showcase on August 12, 2026, to hear from Professor McLean, Dr. Chang, Dr. Tate, and many other inspiring presenters. To find the sign-up within My Learning Connection, click the link below and navigate to the “Learning and Development” card in My Missouri State. Select “My Learning Connection” from the links, and type “Showcase” into the search box in the top right of the screen. From the results, select the section you’d like to register for and save your spot at the event.
