Next up in this year’s Showcase Spotlight Series is a pair of faculty members from the School of Health Sciences: Dr. Sarah Murray and Dr. Hillary Roberts!

Dr. Sarah Murray, Assistant Professor in the school of Health Sciences, and Dr. Hillary Roberts, Associate Professor in the School of Health Sciences, will be presenting at the Showcase this fall during the second session of simultaneous faculty presentations. During this presentation, Dr. Murray and Dr. Roberts will be sharing information on an innovative mentorship model based in the participation of students in a national conference. This session provides insight into a Teaching and Learning Grant project in which faculty mentored 11 nutrition and dietetics students before, during, and after attending a conference, highlighting the structured activities and guided experiences faculty members used to facilitate student engagement and reinforce connection to the field. Attendees will hear how this mentorship experience increased self-efficacy and a sense of belonging in students, and leave with practical strategies to integrate mentorship and conference participation to support student success and engagement. To find the sign-up within My Learning Connection, click the link below and navigate to the “Learning and Development” card in My Missouri State. Select “My Learning Connection” from the links, and type “Showcase” into the search box in the top right of the screen.
