The State of Missouri expanded eligibility for the Access Missouri Grant, making more students eligible for the state aid. The expanded eligibility goes into effect for the 2023-2024 academic year. The news was recently announced by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD).
What changed?
Last year, families with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) between $0-$12,000 qualified.
Now, students with up to a $20,000 Expected Family Contribution may qualify.
Qualifying students receive $1,500 of grant aid assistance from the State of Missouri. Grants do not need to be repaid.
Find out if you qualify
The office of student financial aid is revising the financial aid packages of newly eligible students. The office will notify those individuals via email as soon as possible. Until then, log in to the State Financial Aid Portal (administered by MDHEWD) to see if you qualify.
Other eligibility requirements still apply
Students must be enrolled full time (12 hours for the fall and spring semesters) and meet other eligibility requirements. The requirements must be met before you can receive the funds in your account.
