The apple trees are finally waking up for the season.  With the cool spring that we have experienced the tree fruit seem to be developing about 2 weeks later than last year.  This has been a benefit in that it has avoided some insect pests that are present and like the fresh green foliage, as they arrived and did not find tissue to chew on.  The apple trees will need to be thinned later in order to produce the best quality fruit.
